Patrick Brennan Architect PLLC is an USEPA/DOE Energy Star Partner… To earn the ENERGY STAR, a home must meet strict guidelines for energy efficiency set by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency. These homes are at least 15% more energy efficient than homes built to the 2004 International Residential Code (IRC), and include additional energy-saving features that typically make them 20–30% more efficient than standard homes.
Reviewing and evaluating facility operations and performance.
Administering the Contract between the Owner and Contractor. Being representative of and advising the Owner during the construction period. Responsibilities include, evaluating the progress and quality of the Work, reviewing and certifying amounts due the Contractor, reviewing submittals, facilitating changes in the Work, and conducting inspections to determine Substantial and Final Completion.
Assisting the Owner in obtaining either competitive bids or negotiated proposals. Awarding and preparing contracts for construction.
Coordinating services provided by the Architect and the Architect’s consultants with those services provided by the Owner and the Owner’s consultants. Assisting the Owner in connection with the Owner’s responsibility for filing documents required for the approval of governmental authorities having jurisdiction over the Project.
Preliminary evaluation of Owner’s requirements including, program, budget and schedule. Preliminary review of Owner’s site and proposed method of contracting for construction services.
Patrick Brennan, RA, AIA, LEED AP, Principal
Working closely with client and contractor, Patrick designs and manages new construction and renovation projects from concept through completion. With his hands-on approach to building he has maintained an intimate knowledge of construction practices and techniques. Skilled in both the development of new construction technologies as well as the implementation of time tested methods, Patrick seamlessly incorporates environmentally responsible, energy and water conserving solutions into each project. Whether traditional or modern, his designs capture the unique spirit of each client, celebrate fine craftsmanship, and evoke a sense of appropriateness and permanence often lacking in today’s mass-market culture. Patrick was educated at Deerfield Academy and the Rhode Island School of Design, where he received a Bachelor of Fine Arts and a Bachelor of Architecture in 1992.
A licensed and registered Architect in New York State and a LEED Accredited Professional (AP), he is also a member of the American Institute of Architects (AIA). In 2010, Patrick earned BPI certification as a Certified Building Analyst and a Certified Envelope Professional.
Outside of practice, Patrick volunteers his time and expertise with local institutions including St. Matthews Church of Bedford and the Katonah/Bedford Hills Volunteer Ambulance Corp.
Patrick Brennan is a certified BPI Building Analyst Professional and certified BPI Envelope Professional… BPI is a national standards development and credentialing organization for residential energy efficiency retrofit work – providing training through a network of training affiliate organizations, individual certifications, company accreditations and quality assurance programs. As an independent, not-for-profit organization, we bring together leading building science experts from across North America to develop our standards using a consensus-based methodology.
Sam Wong, RA, LEED AP, Senior Associate
A graduate from the School of Architecture at Pratt Institute, Sam received a Bachelor of Architecture degree in 1997. As Project Manager, he develops project sketchs, drawings, and specifications from concept through construction, as well as managing owner/contractor/consultant relationships for the firm’s most complex projects. Additionally, Sam maintains all of the firm’s Computer Aided Design and Drafting (CADD) systems and its web site. Sam is a licensed and registered Architect in New York and New Jersey States and a LEED Accredited Professional (AP).
